I wouldn't bother travelling overseas till thePandemic is over. I would rather just travel within Australia or to NZ, and not face all these restrictions and be forced to be admitted to a Singapore hospital for a minor covid infection!

My take on the changes that airlines are making to FF programs is that they do not want you to make it easy for you to use points for premium seats, either they severely restrict the seats or they will gradually keep increasing the points required. Qantas is not alone in this , Singapore did this...

A good solution would be to replace the A 380 MEl to DXB and LHR with another dreamliner on this route. That would not result in a capacity excess and would help keep a loyal customer base with an improved product

Not worth it. They get you if you keep the card you end up spending 1200 dollars per yr so eventually it costs you what you would pay   for a commercial ticket anyway.
