Starwood continues to ramp up its portfolio in Dubai with another new hotel on the way: this time, the Aloft Dubai, The Palm hotel on the man-made Palm Jumeirah island.

With a planned opening in 2017, guests in the hotel’s 192 guestrooms including 10 suites can enjoy access to a 500m stretch of beach directly from the hotel’s ground floor, before returning to their rooms via SPG Keyless using their smartphone.

Added to that, fast and free wireless Internet access for all guests, and Aloft’s signature W XYZ Bar with live music acts frequently making an appearance.

You’ll also find the other Aloft brand standards including an on-site fitness centre and ‘re:fuel by Aloft’: a grab-and-go 24/7 eatery, plus an all-day dining restaurant, a further specialty restaurant and an outdoor pool.

“The UAE remains our strongest growth market in the Middle East, and this deal reinforces the demand for mid-market hotel development in the region,” said Michael Wale, President: Starwood Hotels & Hotels Europe, Africa and Middle East.

And it’s not just mid-market digs that Starwood is bringing to Dubai with an ambitious St Regis Dubai The Palm resort planned for 2018, complete with a 360-degree infinity pool with views of the Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline.
