Hyatt is expanding its hotel portfolio to appeal to travellers seeking more of an independent and unique stay experience but with the backing and loyalty program of a global chain in debuting its latest brand: The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

Drawing from a mix of new and existing upper-upscale and luxury hotels, each property will have a distinct character – whether it’s an historic urban gem, a contemporary trend-setter, a boutique hotel or even a resort.

Launch properties include the Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, the Driskill Hotel in Austin, the Carmelo Resort & Spa in Carmelo (Uruguay) and the Coco Palms Resort in Kauai (Hawaii, USA) which is expected to undergo a revitalisation and re-open in 2018.

“The Unbound Collection by Hyatt provides us with a myriad of opportunities to grow, not only in new markets, but also in places we know our guests want to go,” said Mark Hoplamazian, President and CEO of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

“What really excites us about The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is that this portfolio provides rich social currency through story-worthy, shareable experiences that guests will take with them long after their stay,” Hoplamazian added.

Benefits for Hyatt Gold Passport members are still to be finalised, although it’s expected that basics like free Internet access and complimentary room upgrades will be available to eligible guests with all members able to earn and redeem points at The Unbound Collection hotels.
