    Tim tams to the ISM (black uniform) on boarding will be best approach, then ask them for a Cathay delight during the flight

    A shame they cant run the 380 per /lhr that would be the silver bullet...the 789 is just too small for this long a flight

  • I would expect the worst if booking this codeshare - Hong Kong Airlines has a terrible reputation in Asia, expect bags not to be tagged through to destination or second boarding passes to be provided at first check-in and you won't be disappointed.Fortunately transit arrangements at HKIA are fair...

  • they wont be flying to korea or taiwan as the markets are either too competitive or too small. id like to see them increase China flights with 788s taken off jetstar as their international operations are closed down

    Chinese cuisine in Mong Kok restaurants should typically be avoided, it is there for Mainland Chinese shoppers and usually contains a lot of MSG and other chemicals whilst being very expensive.If you want excellent yum cha with a local experience then Tim Ho Wan at Sham Shui Po is your best bet.

    The Chinese restaurant at the W hotel does excellent all you can eat yum cha, that would be my choice via airport express to minimise the amount of time in public transport (no transfers either). If youre feeling decadent follow it up with a trip to the spa at the Ritz Carlton which has Peak-beat...

  • This doesn't work anymore (per FT CX forum), the miles will not count towards the following year's qualification.Best option would be to fly up to 30k qualification then call CX and ask them to reset renewal early so that the rest of the miles count towards next years status.

    Cathay and Qantas are the only carriers operating BNE-HKG, if you want to redeem points in either Asia Miles or Qantas you will be able to book on either carrier although the 'home' carrier is usually less points to redeem.
