I agree with klane.EWR/JFK would be great but I'm guessing ORD would be a more pragmatic option.JNB via PER could be the next destination. Especially if they codeshare with VA and SA (given their financial situation and *A membership)

Hi All, over the past few years I have been aiming to fly the A380 in first over a variety of airlines. I see that Qatar will begin flying their A380 to SYD from September. However, I can only book a Business fare (through their website) as First is not an option. I'm a bit reluctant to book a J ...

  • I believe NZ check in desks open at 1:30pm at LAX for the 5pm NZ002 to LHR.However, NZ will only accept checked luggage 8hrs before your flight. If your want to get there earlier (without checked luggage) you could always stop by the Singapore or Lufthansa desks in TBIT to see if they can check yo...

  • All of NZ's 772's have completed their refurbishment

  • Yes the AKL and WLG domestic lounges are crowded at peak times. I blame the there being too many Koru members (which is my biggest gripe with NZ). Although with NZ's new lounges, they are increasing capacity which is a welcome relief. That's interesting Velocity is owned by a third party, I would ...

  • I hope the partnership does dissolve. For one, NZ FF's can't earn status credits when flying VA domestically in Australia (which is why I fly QF within Australia as they have more consistent service and a higher quality product in my opinion). Also the VA cardholders tend to fill up NZ's lounges ...

  • Back when I was young and still at home; when our family travelled, my parents flew F/J and left myself and my brother down the back in Y. I didn't really mind as we thought we were pretty grown-up being by ourselves! However when the plane began its descent, we were usually allowed to go and sit...

  • Air NZ no longer allows one-off paid entry to its lounges. You can however purchase an annual Koru membership.

  • I'm sure you will enjoy flying with NZ. Some pointers to be shared:1) Avoid their 767 if possible as it is quite old and the J seats are recliner-style. However the crew and food/wine will still be good.2) Avoid flying trans-tasman on the A320 fleet as it is staffed by the ex Zeal320 crew who are...

  • Wow its attack of the ME3 in AKL at the moment.I think a direct route to DXB would be more efficient. However, 17 hours on an angle-lie flat in 2-3-2? Hmm, I think I'll stick to the NZ/SQ co-op on European flights. Now AKL just needs EY to comlete the trio...

  • Another carrier flying to Auckland? I suppose it was only a matter of time before another ME3 carrier hoped on the AKL bandwagon.I feel AKL is nearing on over-saturation? Trans-tasman is flooded with 10 airlines operating ex AKL. Europe is well served with many airlines offering streamlined 1-2 s...

  • Typically I would credit the points to the airline that you are flying with the most. That being said as a generic rule United and the Lufthansa Group have good programs in earning points/status credits. They tend not to discriminate what *A airline you are flying with.I would avoid Air NZ's and S...

  • You will have access to both the NZ and SQ lounges.Definitely visit both, although I personally prefer the NZ lounge over the SQ (although the NZ can get crowded at peak times).

  • SQ has the 'Suites' on their A380 services which differ to the two variations of the 'First' product found on 773/77W.I'm pretty certain that SQ's LHR bound 77W's exclusively fly the new First product.
