I’ve seen that many times when trying to redeem QF points on partner airlines, e.g. Air France, KLM and Qatar Airways. I ended up not flying at the time.

I cancelled a QF Classic Rewards on Emirates in October. Points credited within 2 weeks, but fees and taxes are still pending. I’ve emailed Qantas multiple times and disputed the charge with my Credit Card to no avail yet either.

Thanks for the update @Phil Young. I had done my research about 6 weeks ago and it appears that Switzerland has added the ticket or hotel booking requirement since. It’s an ever-changing game.

I’ve also attempted to contact Qantas multiple times re the refund for the fees and taxes on a classic reward cancellation. It’s been over two months, they’ve returned the points to my account, but no news on the $. Their call centre is helpless any time of the day or the night....

Mind you the complimentary Sydney Airport terminal bus has also been suspended and am not sure if that’s going to be reinstated even though it would cater to passagens of all airlines and of course non-passengers also who may need to go from one terminal to the other.

On a second thought since it happened on the 1st of April, maybe it was a QF April fools joke!
