• QF Lounge Upgrades

    Apr 09, 2024, 09:38 AM

There appears to be significant works between T1 and T2 at MEL underway which may be the beginning of the new Swing Gates project which will mean 2 domestic gates in Concourse C can convert to International as needed. If this is the case, the plan was for a new International Business Lounge to b...

  • QF Booking in EK Premium Economy

    Apr 02, 2024, 07:36 PM

This may be a question for the travel agents out there.Does anyone understand how the QF/EK alliance works with Premium Economy bookings? I am trying to book an itinerary to Europe later this year. The QF website offers options on both QF and EK in both Economy and Business classes but shows no...

  • Experience on SQ 787

    Dec 11, 2023, 01:21 PM

The Y seats SQ have on their 78X and regional A359s are not great. Even though the A359 is wider than the 787, the seats are the same width with the extra fuselage width just going into wider aisles.

  • Qantas A330-200s to Singapore

    Oct 19, 2023, 08:59 AM

I have flown on a domestic A332 (VH-EBE which has now been withdrawn for freighter conversion) on SIN-MEL which used iPads in Y instead of seatback IFE. It doesn't happen very often but can occur. You are more likely to get these older (Citylflyer) A332s on international services to Auckland, B...

  • QF has a crew base in London with a payscale significantly less than legacy Australian based crew. QF9/10 between PER and LHR and QF1/2 between SIN and LHR will basically always be crewed by this staff. When I flew QF10, I got talking to the flight attendant who had joined QF from a UK charter ...

  • Jealous of First Class Travel??

Given he posted it on Facebook etc, I would guess he didn't pay for it at all.....lucky him!! Emirates would have given tickets to him gratis provided he made lots of positive comments about them on his socials.

  • WiFi is definitely possible but it will be BYOD. It is very unlikely they will go for IFE screens. They add weight and cabin crew hate having to deal with faulty units and the associated angst.

  • It's an old rumour. but I guess it's getting another run now there is a new CEO in the chair and there is such focus on Qantas' service issues. None of the older A332s (Cityflyer) do long haul routes. You may occasionally see them going to Jakarta or Manila but that is about it; other than that ...

For all flights, there was a su...

  • Codeshare confusion

    Feb 08, 2023, 08:23 PM

As you are travelling J Class, I would think you would access whatever lounge the MH check-in staff direct you to. This may not necessarily be the Qantas Lounge. You will not be able to earn QF points or status credits on the MH sector as your ticket shows an TK flight number. (The QF status cred...

  • The WiFi installed on A332s is only activated on domestic services even though many international services operated by the same A332s to places like DPS, CGK and SIN spend over half the flight time over the Australian continent where Skymuster coverage is available.

  • With Qantas now looking to replace their A330s in the next four or five years, it is entirely possible that they will never get fitted with WiFi. Qantas is basically a decade behind their competition having mucked around for years waiting for an international system that meets their needs and wh...
