Alan is still in dream land. Until there is a 100% guarantee of no quarantine - which I highly doubt by November/December, it just ain't gonna happen. He needs to calm down and quit these ridiculous "Overseas opens this date!" announcements.

Qantas has also had what, three or four "grand reopening of international travel" dates thus far. I won't be expecting to see much of anything on any dates they provide until I see jets actually taking off WITH passengers to overseas destinations. My suspicion is even if July is realistic for US ...

This is very true. Unless they are forced to into administration/declare bankruptcy - which sadly rumour has it, is not far off happening. 

US airlines are ready and able to take market share from QF. Given Q won’t be flying much of an international schedule for a long time yet they will lose a lot of flying to overseas airlines I would dare say. 

Far superior product to QF. Such a shame. I feel for all the staff who are likely unemployed for the longer term now. Brutal.

Was Qatar, like Etihad, not already suffering a losses prior to COVID? I recall a 600 million loss in 2019.Perhaps a good excuse to shrink the company to levels it was needing to be at anyway and save face in doing so?

Absolutely! one of the only complaints I have with VA's "The Business" offering...needs a privacy door.

Does anyone know if I hold a Velocity gold/platinum card and have a booking on Virgin America via SFO, am I able to access the clubhouse free of charge or am I just eligible to purchase a ticket for entry? I have heard conflicting stories on this. Cheers!

Thanks mate, yeah I remember seeing lots of very reasonable business reward fares...now as far as I can see, thre are literally zero on there for the next 12 months. Hope they add some more on there soon!
