New Thai Airways Airbus A350 will fly Bangkok-Melbourne
Aug 31, 2016, 12:19 PMaw101. Yes it is meant to be a permanent change. Over on FlyerTalk there has been an indication that the GDS for the winter schedule (Oct-Mar) will be updated shortly, Thai are notoriously slow at doing this. As an aside, the first TG A350 delivery is scheduled to land in BKK in approximately 10...

The best seats in business class aboard Thai Airways' Boeing 747s
Jul 29, 2016, 03:12 PMThai is scheduled for both double daily Melbourne flights to be exclusively A350 by the end of October. This will mean flat beds in a 1-2-1 layout so a good upgrade on the current seats. But out of Syd I 100% agree it is inferior. Once the A350's come on board it will be flat beds to MEL, ...

New Thai Airways Airbus A350 will fly Bangkok-Melbourne
Jun 06, 2016, 09:31 PMExactly the same product on board Thai's 777-300ER's which service their European routes. But you are right it is a much better product than their 777-200ER's currently used in to Melbourne.

New Thai Airways Airbus A350 will fly Bangkok-Melbourne
Jun 06, 2016, 09:15 PMI wouldn't trust webjet. Thai's own website has the A350 loaded in the schedule for then.

New Thai Airways Airbus A350 will fly Bangkok-Melbourne
Jun 06, 2016, 09:01 PMThai don't have A340's (well they do but they don't fly them on RPT) so not sure where you read that. They have actually been very consistently using the 777-200ER except for a very short period when they put the 777-300ER (with the same business seats as the A350). So I would say they are very c...

Three new business class seat designs we'll see in 2016
May 11, 2016, 01:26 PMYeah would be good to know more about this. Pretty sure it is still in the schedule (which means nothing with TG) to start BKK-MEL July 1st but considering they haven't even received the aircraft yet I reckon it is unlikely!

SkyBus launches St Kilda Melbourne Airport shuttle
Apr 15, 2016, 10:00 AMThere used to be the PTV bus 4XX from the Moonee Ponds/Essendon interchange which was actually pretty good, only 20 minutes or so, not sure if it still exists. The problem is the PTV website is skewed towards Skybus so it doesn't display the PTV options available so didn't really drive use toward...

SkyBus launches St Kilda Melbourne Airport shuttle
Apr 14, 2016, 03:18 PMIt would be great if these services were provided by PTV and not a private company as is done in many countries in the world (most of Europe!). Many local buses at Berlin airport and the cost of only E1.80 or so to get in to town. It is shown it is a profitable undertaking so why isn't PTV provi...

Emirates reveals new Boeing 777 business class seat
Mar 10, 2016, 05:40 PMWell the 2 main airlines they compete against, Qatar and Etihad are way ahead in this game. Qatar's 777's business class is 2-2-2 with lots of space and a-la-carte dining. Their A350's are 1-2-1. Their prices also aren't out of line with EK's so not sure that argument stands.

Hi Chris, I recently acquired the ANZ rewards black card (about a month ago), I haven't had any notification from ANZ that my points earn is devaluing, and would find that pretty misleading as it was never mentioned in any of the sign on material. Are you able to confirm this?

Virgin Australia tweaks Velocity Frequent Flyer points scheme
Mar 01, 2016, 04:35 PMYeah it's not exactly great that you are buying points at effectively 1.4 cents per point. But to me the points are more valuable in a Business Class redemption. Also there is the opportunity cost of losing those points and not being able to use them later on down the track. I am in a bit of a p...
