• In a recent press release TG also mentioned the possibility of double daily to sydney...is that still on the cards?Would be nice to have another SEA operator to fly 1 stop to europe.

  • I don't see how this makes sense. Sydney to LAX already seems saturated (but I guess they have more staistics on that front than I) and with direct flights by both operators, why would anyone fly via AKL?  Using the Adelaide or Peth markets would be a better option as these would also ...

  • What is the functional purpose for this all female toilet? Assuming even an equal split of male-female J-class passengers, the males will have a lower selection of lavatories to choose from. Hence their whole experience will be somewhat hampered. Is this worth the extra benefit of having a few e...

  • It's all ifs and buts until Qantas actually receive the planes.

I know that the deal is with China Eastern and Shanghai is their main hub, but I reckon Qantas ought to do something about Beijing and Shenzhen as well.

  • Mexico City does make sense. A metropoliatan area of ~20 million people and a fast emerging financial services industry make it a potential goldmine for Qantas. Especially if they're looking to fill up in the premium seats.

  • It's a shame because Brazil is a rapidly growing economy. I believe Lufthansa operates 747-8s to Rio and sao Paulo but that's about it. I expect Emirates or LH to make a move with the A380s sometime soon.

  • What you need to know about AA

Good to see that the number of SC remains unchanged. Personally I thought that both the status credits and miles would decrease when flying with a partner airline.

  • Lets be honest, there are few people (other than those that are going to IST directly) that would want to do a 17 hour flight before going on another plane to mainland Europe.  Going via SIN would be suicide with all the competition. They could also move through India. but I doubt they will...

  • Yes peak travel to Europe means that SQ 227/228 is an A380 instead of 77W from 19 June to 20 July. Same goes for SQ 231/222 to sydney from June 18 to July 31.

  • Business will be better in AA, but if you love torturing yourself, you might like to go sit in their 77W economy. On a different note, what effect will this have for people flying onwards to New York?

  • SFO is amzing as well, with the full view of the bay area nad the golden gate bridge.

the removal of first means that it is likely to replace medium haul premium markets, that may not be hubs per se. Australia fits perfectly into this category (BNE, PER especially) as opposed to something like LHR or tokyo.

  • I really hope they get something like a people mover underground. It would be torture to try and walk to another gate with that kind of terminal configuration.

  • Crappy and least crappy US airports.

    May 14, 2015, 11:02 PM

Chicago-ORD and LAX (especially for transiting into domestic flight) are definitely the worst. SFO is not bad. A 'good' american airport is yet to surface.
