• Interesting. I was on the exact flight yesterday (admittedly I did BNE - CNS - HKG) and the plane was absolutely empty on the first leg from BNE and then 100% full on the second. Perhaps an exception rather than the rule?

  • Difference is that whilst QF would get some connecting Canadian traffic through YVR from its partner Westjet, it would be nowhere near as much traffic as from AA in ORD or another of its ports.Air Canada on the other hand has a huge network in both Canada and the US so can filter people through Y...

  • It's not just you, but it does seem to be working as everybody is talking about them!

  • I suspect you'll actually get looked after as I doubt very much they'll make you split up. Please report back!

  • I am with you! I'm based in SYD but YYZ is my home airport so this news is spectacular. AC have great connections out of LAX with flights leaving every few hours, making the long trip home a bit quicker than routing through ATL/DTW/JFK or any of the others that DL fly through. Plus, when stage 2 ...

  • I go to California a few times a year for business (and fun) and frankly would MUCH prefer the afternoon arrival. That Sunday evening flight out of BNE sounds amazing, and one I will be looking forward to trying when the time comes. Understand it doesn't work for people with connections, but if ...

  • I'd say highly unlikely given their financial woes and the fact that they've just re-done them. I do agree with you though that Y on their A333's for that long is not going to be much fun.... EY all the way!

  • Correct - AC has such a stronghold on the Canadian government so very unlikely it would happen.

  • Interesting perspective. I live in SYD and would absolutely consider a transit through PER which went direct on to Europe (LHR or otherwise). I like the idea of a domestic transfer as opposed to international and once you're on a long flight you may as well stay on it! Assuming the timings worke...

  • Absolutely.... Delta's IFE is also far superior to VA's with hours and hours of box set TV shows and movies. Now the staff is another matter, but perhaps that's slowly getting better!!!

  • Well this is pretty crap. Fly ahead was the single reason for me to continue flying Virgin over QF, particularly as fares are more or less the same.. Shame. Time to move on I guess.

  • +1 on this. No doubt free lounge alcohol will soon be limited and shut down. Sorry if this it too off topic mods!

  • I set it up in about 5 minutes this morning, as my AMEX was already attached to me itunes account all it took was an SMS confirmation and it was good to go! Used at Coles and Vintage Cellars no problem at all. It's not that much handier than tapping a credit card, but once we can get all of the ...

I'm actually here right now, on a Wednesday morning at 9am and have been here since about 7.30. It's busy, but plenty of seats available. I can imagine that in the afternoon peak it will get a bit crazy.

  • I agree, MEX is amazing and one of the globes top cities to visit. The problem would be return traffic. With the peso at current values there is not likely to be very many Mexicans coming to OZ. And with plenty of MEX - LAX frequencies which can easily connect to SYD/MEL/BNE I can't see this hap...
