$550 RRP from Sony but discounts abound. There's a very good website for finding the lowest priced tech, which is https://www.staticice.com.au/,it covers a lot of the small to medium-sized retailers including online-only stories, also super handy for 'price matching' at larger retailers too!

  • Not sure what has SQ and New York got to do with this, but while we're on that subject, I find the best way to go to NY is with Cathay Pacific. Happy to avoid LAX, don't have to collect and recheck my bags, great lounges at HKG and great business class all the way through. I tried the SQ flight b...

  • Aren't they both about as painful? At least with a Qantas transfer in Sydney you can do it from T3, you don't have to leave the terminal to catch the bus.

  • If you compare US and AU pricing for Apple Music it's USD$10 vs AUD$12, so if the same applies for News+ then this will be pretty appealing.

  • I think showers are very unrealistic here. The only aircraft which have showers are the A380s of Emirates and Etihad. Space will be at a premium on these singe-deck aircraft and every bit of weight carried will add up, and water weighs a lot. Much better for Qantas to offer access to an arrivals ...

  • If you don't want to "fly dry" from Brisbane to London you can choose to fly with at least a dozen other airlines.

  • Might be helpful to know a bit more about the timeline of these things. Seats are chosen at least a year before aircraft delivery and that's assuming they are selected from the aircraft manufacturer's catalogue of pre-approved designs, have minimal customisation and are 'line-fitted' by Airbus or...

  • Well this is a bit of a surprise, I would have put money on Qantas following in Emirates' footsteps, very pleased to hear they are going to be treating their loyal frequent flyers the same as those making a normal paid booking.

  • Nice scoop AusBT! Melbourne deserves a 'proper' Hilton, just a shame we will have to wait this long for it.

  • Well this certainly qualifies as an interesting move! I wonder how many travel managers will fall for the "Business Suites is business class" line and not notice the same booking codes as first class?

  • This sounds great. I was gifted a bottle of Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz last year from a client, the name is a bit off-putting but this is a phenomenal shiraz. $200 makes it very expensive but if somebody else is buying, enjoy!

  • I’d agreee with not allowing Jetstar passengers in here but I don’t think Qantas would agree! There should be a corner of the lounge with a TV and some seating but the rest of the lounge should in effect be one big ‘quiet zone’. As a transit lounge as well as somewhere...

  • He is a tosser but I would agree that lightly 'grazing' is better than tucking into three-course meals when you are flying. As much as possible I have my 'main meal' in the lounge, this is very easy at the Qantas Sydney First lounge with such a great menu but no massive dishes and the ability to ...

  • That's exactly right Bob, this would be why VA is looking to have different pricing and speed tiers, it will give the Internet to those who do want it and keep the freeloaders on cheap tickets offline.

  • Wouldn't bother doing this in business class but yes, if you're sitting further down the back of the bus (Airbus) it could be good.
