Qantas Airbus A380s return to the skies
Sep 09, 2021, 04:35 PMI certainly use a mobile but I try to avoid global roaming charges - will our vaccine passports be off-line?

Qantas Airbus A380s return to the skies
Sep 08, 2021, 04:35 PMWe're all getting excited but I never see any discussion of when or whether travel insurance will become available. Without that, most of us won't be going anywhere.

Embraer 190 Flight Experience & Seat Map [2022]
Aug 18, 2021, 03:39 PMHaven't tried the Alliance version, but a few years ago flew on a BA Embraer from the (wonderfully convenient) London City Airport to Madrid Barajas. Really comfortable experience in economy.

Review: Review: Qantas Club Regional Lounge, Broome Airport
Jul 29, 2020, 03:26 PMA few years since I've been to Broome, but this is definitely an improvement on the old VIP lounge they used - not to mention having to be on good behaviour because I ran into my (Adelaide) dentist there.

London City Airport is finally getting lounges
Jul 22, 2020, 05:22 PMOnly once travelled from LCY, but it was wonderful to stay overnight at a Docklands hotel and travel for 5-10 minutes on the Docklands Railway to get there.

Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand end trans-Tasman alliance
Apr 04, 2018, 06:05 PMI understand AirNZ are able to fly domestically in Oz, they can be their own domestic link.

What do you want from Qantas' new Sydney business class lounge?
Feb 23, 2018, 03:01 PMI add my vote to those saying more space - and more seats, especially provision for solo travellers. Preferably I'd like more flights from Melbourne, if Qantas continues to desert Adelaide: anything to avoid the atrocity that is Sydney Airport.

Oneworld lounge access: why some frequent flyers are shut out
Feb 14, 2018, 03:18 PMOne wrinkle is that Qantas Gold/OW Sapphire doesn't get you in to OW lounges when travelling Jetstar Business, as I discovered at Japan Airline's Lounge at Osaka - although the CIP used by Jetstar there is really rather good and uncrowded.

Should you tip the staff in US airport lounges?
Jan 10, 2018, 04:53 PMLast time I was in the Admiral's Club at JFK (some years ago) I ended up with a large quantity of NY subway tokens so I asked the barman if he'd be happy to be tipped in tokens (he was).

Qantas boosts points, status credits on international flights
Oct 28, 2017, 12:41 PMAmazing to get a QF enhancement which actually enhances. Together with a restoration of the Kangaroo route, I can go back to using QF at least to some European destinations. Still have Business Saver and PE fares higher than other OW, however.

Green outgoing passenger departure cards axed from July 1, 2017
Jun 21, 2017, 03:16 PMI want to complain! I went to the trouble of collecting a thick wad of them to last my flying lifetime and as I won't be going overseas till December, I now have to get rid of them.

The Qantas-Emirates alliance: four years on...
Mar 29, 2017, 03:07 PMDon't want to go via the middle east especially DBX, so Cathay gets my business especially as they haven't abandoned Adelaide. A small (very) bouquet to QFF that they somewhat increased the partner earn rate ex ADL as a slight concession to their guilty consciences.

Qantas Virgin Australia Cathay Pacific to battle for Hong Kong
Mar 27, 2017, 11:29 AMI'm always surprised that the Qantas group don't run a direct Jetstar flight to HKG, probably from MEL, rather than the absurdity of transit through Singapore. Another smart move for QF would be a codeshare to Europe ex HKG - CX would be the obvious partner except that the two hate each other, al...

Cathay Pacific upgrades Boeing 777 premium economy
Mar 17, 2017, 05:27 PMThe best improvement which airlines could make to PE is more convenient toilets - apparently Qantas will do this on the 787. There's nothing worse that waking up after overnight, walking to the economy toilets and discovering a mile long queue. At least those in economy can see what's happening a...

ANZ stops issuing American Express credit cards
Mar 01, 2017, 05:34 PMIn some ways a pity but expected since the RBA busybody started interfering. Not too upset since the FF Black isn't too bad, though my annual European trip in J may need to be paid in two dollops. Basically more convenient to have one, though it's bad luck I gave up my regular Amex which wa...
