• The current herringbone seat was introduced way back in 2005. I'd hardly call the 2011 refresh 'enhanced' other than brown to white seat covers and new IFE.NZ business may replace what was the 'club world' joke now that BA have upped their game.If you are based in NZ there is not really an altern...

  • I take it DHS Global Entry is not effected?

  • In my opinion Qatar's J is slightly better than Etihad's and their DOH/LHR/DXB lounges are excellent. But both (and SQ's) are still fantastic products, especially if you live in Australia and can A380 all the way to Europe.

I think this is a solid 4 star, not 5 star. It needs a bit of a refurb. However it's a great location. That said, I have seen a few reviews for the new Trump Hotel in Washington DC, and that looks more elegant and refined.

  • Air NZ has this with select cards, it's a great way to boost your balance when you are close to retaining your tier

  • I'd hoped that they would put a few rows of their new Premium Economy recliner product on their new A321's. I think that would be sufficient for a 3-4 hour flight and an improvement over Works Deluxe.

  • While I like the idea of 'free' internet, this will no doubt slow the service down to an unusable level. In saying that though it should be free for at least Business and Airpoints Elite

I agree with klane.EWR/JFK would be great but I'm guessing ORD would be a more pragmatic option.JNB via PER could be the next destination. Especially if they codeshare with VA and SA (given their financial situation and *A membership)

Hi All, over the past few years I have been aiming to fly the A380 in first over a variety of airlines. I see that Qatar will begin flying their A380 to SYD from September. However, I can only book a Business fare (through their website) as First is not an option. I'm a bit reluctant to book a J ...

Yes and I guess it is another one of NZ's 'unique' safety videos. However, watching it multiple times a week does wear very thin; it's also quite long. Also, what do you mean by EK's SYD-CHC service being "up to it's usual standard"?  I have been very tempted to try this flight as flying fr...

  • Well hopefully this is a step closer to a dissolution of the alliance

  • I believe NZ check in desks open at 1:30pm at LAX for the 5pm NZ002 to LHR. However, NZ will only accept checked luggage 8hrs before your flight. If your want to get there earlier (without checked luggage) you could always stop by the Singapore or Lufthansa desks in TBIT to see if they can chec...

  • All of NZ's 772's have completed their refurbishment

  • Yes the AKL and WLG domestic lounges are crowded at peak times. I blame the there being too many Koru members (which is my biggest gripe with NZ). Although with NZ's new lounges, they are increasing capacity which is a welcome relief. That's interesting Velocity is owned by a third party, I woul...

  • I hope the partnership does dissolve. For one, NZ FF's can't earn status credits when flying VA domestically in Australia (which is why I fly QF within Australia as they have more consistent service and a higher quality product in my opinion). Also the VA cardholders tend to fill up NZ's lounges ...
