Amex Membership Reward to VA via SQ for better ratio?
Jul 26, 2016, 11:13 AMWhy would you bother? You would be losing out. MR to SQ is 1:1, then SQ to VA is 1.35:1. MR to VA directly is 1:1. As an example: 10,000 MR to VA is 10,000 VA points. 10,000 MR to SQ is 10,000 SQ points, 10,000 SQ to VA is 7,407 VA points.

Virgin Australia plans daily flights to Hong Kong Beijing China
Jun 01, 2016, 02:10 PMYes, UO is expanding rapidly and seems to be doing quite well. HX on the other hand doesn't really know what it is (like AB). It tends to carry mainlanders to leisure destinations, and could probably spare a daily frequency for VA. Their Chinese network ex-HKG should help a VA HKG flight be viable.

Virgin Australia plans daily flights to Hong Kong Beijing China
May 31, 2016, 12:09 PMWell CX has used all the capacity for HK-based carriers to fly to SYD/MEL/BNE/PER. HNA could try using VA to fly to HKG instead, as AU-based carriers have plenty of capacity. HX has slots that it could share..

Qantas opening new London Heathrow T3 first business class lounge
Feb 23, 2016, 09:51 AMI wonder why the oneworld airlines can cooperate on lounges at LAX, but not at LHR? T3 has 2x BA, 2x AA, 1x CX and soon 1x QF lounge. On top of that, AY uses a contract lounge at T3?? That aside, looks like it will be a great lounge!

Why did Virgin Australia choose to partner with Delta and not United?
Jan 13, 2016, 10:09 AMVA & DL were the weakest players, being the newest entrants to the market. Both were seeking a partner to improve their offering. The UA-CO merger was on the horizon so UA had other priorities.
