Turkish Airlines targets Qantas with status match
Jul 18, 2023, 12:52 PMInteresting that VA FF are being excluded. A potential VA/TK tie up on the cards?

Review: JR East Japan Shinkansen GranClass (Tokyo to Utsunomiya)
Feb 01, 2023, 04:15 PMMost people use very efficient and cost effective bag forwarding services in Japan. It means not having to lug your large bags around stations.

Airlines could soon allow 5G phone calls during flights
Nov 25, 2022, 12:21 PMWhat an awful bloody idea. It's bad enough that the lounge is full of people yapping away at the top of their lungs or watching tv on their ipads with no headphones.

Virgin Australia postpones “new era of flying” event for second time
Jul 06, 2022, 11:34 AMLike many people I'm hoping for a *A announcement. I know there are many who think there's no way it could happen, mainly because of the requirement for all member airlines to agree, and the idea that NZ would never do this. If that was the case though, the alliance would never get a new member a...

This new Vantage Duo seat is ideal for Qantas’ next-gen business class
Jun 07, 2022, 09:55 AMI like the look of this. I'd certainly prefer this to a narrower seat that is trying to squeeze in a flat bed for the sake of being flat. Have just returned from a trip with 4 legs in business with SQ and the most comfortable position for me (I'm a larger fella) was in a reclining/cradled positio...

Good news - looks fantastic. I never minded the gold lounge in T2 but that's probably becuse it was usually quieter. The T3 lounge was not pleasant at all.

Singapore Airlines' new Boeing 737 business class
Apr 07, 2021, 11:39 AMAs a regular (in normal times) SQ flyer I'm excited about the rebrand although I'm also a little sad to see the Silkair brand dissapear. I thought they were a great airline and had many great trips with them!

Will the new Virgin Australia 2.0 join Star Alliance?
Jul 23, 2020, 02:46 PMIt's only a matter of time before *A also doesn't have an Indian carrier, once the Indian Gov finally accept that they can't even give it away and just let the thing implode. In that scenario, would be interesting to see if Vistara step into *A.

Will the new Virgin Australia 2.0 join Star Alliance?
Jul 21, 2020, 04:14 PMI'd love it if they joined *A. For trips to Asia and Europe I much prefer the option to fly back to SYD during the day with SQ. The partnership has been ok, but it doesn't do much for you once you're out of the main hub routes. *A options for lounge access and earn and burn would be great.

Bain wins: US investment giant takes control of Virgin Australia
Jun 26, 2020, 04:04 PMSome strange comments here from people who seem convinced the reason Bain have bought the airline is so they can run it into the ground. Sure, there's a group of rusted on FF that wouldn't be seen dead on any airline but QF, but there's a hige mid market of people who will do whatever they can to...

Indian airline IndiGo sees Virgin Australia 2.0 as low-cost carrier
May 12, 2020, 12:37 PMI would have thought the attraction of a domestic feeder network would be very attractive to someone like SQ. I'd expect Temasek's offer to be very strong. Personaly I hope they win out. Would suit me as an SQ flyer, and I would also expect that they would want to retain some level of premium exp...

Indian airline IndiGo sees Virgin Australia 2.0 as low-cost carrier
May 12, 2020, 12:34 PMHaving flown them a number of times, I found Indigo to be absolutely fine, and in my opinion the best of the Indian domestic carriers (with the exception of Vistara). I'd probably rather fly Indigo over Jetstar or Tiger!

Breitling's new Chronomat 2020 makes a nod to 1980s-fuelled nostalgia
Apr 30, 2020, 01:45 PMThanks for the tips - appreciated. I'm more down the low thousands end so will take a look at the brands you've suggested. Thanks again.

Breitling's new Chronomat 2020 makes a nod to 1980s-fuelled nostalgia
Apr 29, 2020, 04:25 PMI've never owned a watch more expensive than 50 bucks in my life but am considering buying myself something decent as a celebration of a recent milestone. Problem is I have no idea where to start or what I should be looking for. Felix I'd be grateful to be pointed in the direction of any resource...

The Qantas Boeing 747: looking back on a half-century of flying
Apr 29, 2020, 02:36 PMThe space in economy!!!! Sad to see the 747 dissapear. It's an amazing aircraft. If you have the opportunity to visit VH-OJA at HARS near Wollongong it's a great experience. It's amazing to come around the corner and suddenly see a 747 sitting there!
