West Kowloon was the worst experience I've had in 40 years travel. Hundreds of Chinese pushing and crowding through endless ticket, passport, luggage x-rays, HK immigration, Chinese immigration, final boarding checks --- all dragging trolley cases or strollers (there's no luggage check- in) th...

  • Having used the Huawei Pro 10 mobile for 18 months I'd be more than happy to try the Matebook 13 when my current Dell wears out....Huawei tech is impressive, reliability excellent and price attractive. I travel 4 months a year and my laptop is my life !!

  • How can QF's single daily 330 cope with SYD traffic being shed by Emirates, especially as TG is now down to 1 flight a day ? Surely either QF or TG will increase capacity??

  • The idea of 55 minutes from Kowloon West to GZ is pure fantasy. Sure that's the train time, but instead of arriving at GZ East in the centre of the city, the new GZ South station is about 40 minutes away, so there's little saving compared to the old "high speed" very comfortable 2 hour trip. Add...

  • On the recent trip on A350 row 1 was empty on the way out. While there I read about the upgrade for Emerald One World and went straight onto the web for the return, but all 4 already taken :(

  • I've flow to BKK twice recently via KL on MH Business Class. Awarded only 30 status credits for the 8 hour flight to KL, but 60 for the 2 hour flight to BKK. Crazy !! Anyway a round trip scores 180 status credits - even if they are still not serving alcohol in any class on flights under 3 hours!

  • I actually found the Haneda route on Expedia. They were also offering options via Beijing on Air China or HGK on CX........and I paid just over A$7K return for QF/JL c/f over A$13K quoted by QF via LAX.... win /win !!

  • JL was excellent - lie flat beds, good privacy, excellent menu & movie choices, and smooth Asian service. Best is the Haneda stop-over with superb 1st lounge (I'm QF Platinum) situated less than 50 metres from the arrival and departure gates. (Their JFK lounge is not to the same standard but...

  • In March I did a 5 day SYD-JFK return Bus Cl on QF/JL via Haneda. It was the easiest smoothest trip ever with a single 4 hour stop at Haneda's superb first class lounge each way. Even the morning arrival at JFK T1 was amazing - though baggage, customs and immigration in 30 minutes.

  • I usually obtain QF platinum by NOT flying Qantas, as fares and schedules are often better on Cathay, Finnair, B.A., Japan etc. ... and I get more upgrades on One World partner airlines than on QF who have NEVER given me any!

  • As a lifetime Starwood Gold member, I'm less concerned by the points change as the downgrade from 4pm check out to 2 pm. With many Asian flights to both Europe and Australia having evening departures, the 4 pm check out has been the mainstay of my loyalty to Starwood. Removing that will mean I'...

  • No alcohol on Asian flights under 3 hours. Meal service without a glass of wine in Business Class - how can they claim to have One World standards ?  .. and miserly QF points for Business Class flights.

The seats may not be "lie-flat" but they are wide - unlike the "coffins" increasing offered by other airlines where the price of lie-flat and direct aisle access is that your shoulders are pressing against the surrounds on both sides, and your legs funneled into an even smaller area. Frankly I sl...

  • Do QF provide arrivals lounge facility? I don't think CX or Louise lounge will accept you when departing on VN. will accept you .    VN is Skyteam so you wont get access there (unless in Business Class.)

I tried the 1st Class lounge recently. Buffet selection in the dining room was OK, but completely let down by the lack of any decent wine. I was served an oxidised 2013 Aussie Sem Chard which I iimmediately rejected. The only other wine was an equally aged, but just drinkable, cheap red (I think ...
