• Qantas launches Qantas Pay card

Can only see usage of this product falling if it's not on the FF card (unless of course they are getting rid of the cards and going virtual only)

  • Even if QF still had the two extra aircraft they'd still be awaiting the spare parts and outsourced maintenance availability...But someone in Qantas has signed some bad contracts to have these supply issues occur.

  • Thanks for the detailed review. How knowledgeable were the Finnair crew about the QF meals/ wines (typically one of the stronger points of the QF service imho)

  • WSI is very much complementary, it's Sydney's 2nd airport for those living in or travelling to Sydney's West, or Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, even Canberra.Kingsford Smith and all its flights aren't going anywhere and will remain Sydney's main airport for decades.

  • Id think Emirates best bet might be trying to somehow re-engine the existing frames with a more efficient engine, maybe with new 11-abreast economy that Airbus had talked up as part of its Plus changes that never happened.Given the losses Airbus has likely taken on the A380 program, can't see too...

  • Seems great for people with Hand luggage only.Check-in online, get dropped off at T4 and straight to the lounge or gate.More of a walk if you need to check-in luggage in T3 first.

  • @cbourl.Sometimes you gotta make the tough decisions. QF108 (or 1-0-late, took feed from SYD, MEL and BNE) and had a fairly tight turn in JFK to feed the same on the way back. Some time you have to disadvantage passengers from one flight to keep multiple others on time.

  • @newyorkaviationSuspect the preferred route to/from SYD/MEL will be via DFW, so you avoid LAX and only have a short flight on AA.Also some chance of BNE-ORD being rehannoubced soon which will provide another option for BNE.

  • Its interesting that Indonesia's Covid infections are falling dramatically despite still having low vaccination.Japan has also fallen significantly having peaked around the Olympics.

  • Stayed early on when it first opened.I think it works well as a business hotel which is it its main function, with a bit of modern style.  The small room and open wardrobe would make it difficult for a longer stay. The Chromecast feature for your own video subscriptions is great, as is the ce...

  • Guess this means the Fokker 100s and the 717s are going to be around for a while then.

  • I'd think most people would prefer a Lounge Access pass to the Status Pass

  • Mandarin Air I'd think still sounds Chinese to most Westerners, so doesn't overcome that issue.Blossom Air or Plum Blossom Air probably works (it's Taiwan's national flower, but not China's - Peony is the flower for mainland China)

  • There won't be a direct line to the City. This Airport is designed for commuters and businesses in Sydney's West. For those in the City, the existing airport will be closer and have far greater frequencies At best in the 2030s you might be able to catch one train to Parramatta, and then the West M...

  • Why keep Velocity - because a well run loyalty program is exceptionally profitable for an airline.Banks and credit card companies hand you money to buy points at say 1.0c per point. If redeemed for goods/vouchers you make 20-30%.But if redeemed for a seat that would otherwise fly empty, you've go...
