China's Shenzhen Airport gets Hyatt Place, Hyatt House hotels

Shenzhen Airport is now home to two new hotels located under the one roof: the Hyatt Place Shenzhen Airport and the Hyatt House Shenzhen Airport, both offering a similar but distinctly different experience.

The 167-room Hyatt Place property resembles an international hotel with free Internet access for all guests, 24-hour dining options, free breakfast for everybody and over 300 square metres of meeting space.

Hyatt House, on the other hand, features 112 apartment-like suites with some including fully-equipped kitchens with microwaves and large refrigerators, a complimentary shopping service to fill your pantry, free Internet access and again free hotel breakfast for all.

In addition, each property provides access to its own 24-hour fitness centre, while the two hotels share an indoor heated swimming pool: open daily from 6am to 10pm.

Conveniently located across from Terminal 3 at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, guests arriving on China Southern’s new Sydney-Shenzhen flights can simply walk to the hotel reception after collecting their luggage and clearing Chinese customs.

From there, the hotels reside 40 minutes from the Futian CBD and Shekou free trade zone, and Hong Kong can be easily accessed by shuttle bus from the airport itself.

Peckish travellers can avail themselves of ‘grab and go’ outlets at any hour of the day or night, while the H Bar provides your typical bar fare along with cocktails, wines and premium beers.

Members of the Hyatt Gold Passport loyalty program can earn and redeem points at these hotels, which are now welcoming travellers.

This should be a great option for early morning domestic flights out of SZX which are the best to catch before the congested skies and enevitable delays impact later flights. Public transport and even the airport shuttles are no good for flights earlier than 8 or 9am from the Shenzhen main downtown areas. Hopefully the new Line 11 subway will improve access later this year. Exisitng subway and most of the existing hotels are still focused on the now closed former Terminals 1&2.
