Air France mix'n'match: business class seats swap out for economy

IN BRIEF | Over half of the new business class seats on Air France's Boeing 777 fleet will be replaced by economy seats during holiday seasons when corporate travel slows but leisure travel picks up.

Air France has revealed that 24 of the lie-flat business class benches are designed to be easily removed to make way for 60 economy seats during the European summer.

“We need to be flexible to maximise revenue,” Air France-KLM Group Chief Executive Officer Alexandre de Juniac told Bloomberg.

Air France's rollout of the new business class seats will extend to 40% of its long-range fleet by mid-2016, although upgrades for the A380 superjumbo and A330 fleet won't be completed until mid-2017.
